Sites dot TAMU is a self-service website publishing tool which anyone in the College of Liberal Arts may use for free to create a website for their university work. The service is based on WordPress, the most popular content publishing tool on the web. It’s powerful, easy to use and requires almost no technical expertise.

Eligibility
- Must be faculty, staff or graduate student with the College of Liberal Arts.
Rules
- Must be faculty, staff or graduate student with the College of Liberal Arts.
- Each user must have a TAMU NetID
- No e-commerce activities allowed
- Inactive sites will be given notice and are subject to removal after 1 year
Support
- We manage your site’s web host and the Sites.TAMU.edu network
- We handle the technical: scheduled maintenance and upgrades for WordPress, plugins, themes, etc.
- We evaluate requests for new plugins or themes
- Backups: we provide backups on a weekly basis.
Getting Started
Please submit a request for verification to start the process. YOU MUST BE FACULTY, STAFF, OR A GRADUATE STUDENT WITH THE COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS. After verification, you will be able to create a website yourself.
Limitations: Due to the number of Sites, we are not able to assist you with the creation, design, layout or stylistic portions of creation. Websites are allowed for university related work, and a single, personal website. If you have a technical issue, you should email liberalartsit@tamu.edu.
Additional Organization and Individual Website Options
We regret that we cannot provide services outside of the College of Liberal Arts. If you do not qualify to use our service, but would like to look further into Texas A&M’s resources for websites, please contact the appropriate group below for additional website services and assistance.
- For instructors and faculty distributing class information and/or resources online, contact Instructional Technology Service.
- For Texas A&M-affiliated club or organization websites, contact the Department of Student Activities. Recognized organizations can apply for web server space or use the Groups feature in the Howdy web portal.
- For personal websites, people.tamu.edu allows authorized Texas A&M users to publish a personal web page. All students and faculty can create a web page on people.tamu.edu. Staff who have a full-service Open Access Lab account can use the service (access to this account is determined by departments).
